¶ But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus
came.

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said
unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my
finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will
not believe.

¶ And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut,
and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be
unto you.
27
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach
hither thy hand, and thrust it into
my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast
seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are
they that have not seen, and yet have

... And that's where the phrase 'doubting Thomas' originated.
A lot of the usual everyday sayings and speech we use like "lo and behold" originated from God's Word in the Bible.
The common saying of a person being called a "good Samaritan" for (often heroic) good deeds originates in Luke 10:30-37:

went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him
of his raiment, and wounded him, and
departed, leaving him half dead.

And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him,

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw
him, he had compassion on him,

wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him
to an inn, and took care of him.

And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him,
Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will
repay thee.

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among
the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then
said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise._______________________
What can we conclude from all this?
That God's Word is the Living Word throughout all generations and throughout all Time.
Glory be to the Lord God of Israel.
